Port Coquitlam Minor Hockey team U11C2
Without games this season, they focused their attention on raising awareness for the Share Community and Families. Through collecting recycling beverage containers, donations and drive thru food collections, they collected over $680 and 2400lbs over non-perishable food for the Share Food Bank. They made and distributed flyers. And they made a Chevrolet Good Deeds video to try to win $100, 000 for the Share Food Bank. You could view more photos on Poco Pirates U11C2 on Twitter. They rallied the city council, local papers, businesses, schools and even CTV news to support and raise awareness for the Share Food Bank. And they all joined in… The money and non-perishable food that they collected was so much need during the pandemic. Many individuals lost their jobs and had trouble putting food on the table for their families.
Perhaps, if this deserving hockey team wins $100, they could go for an ice cream treat at Matteo’s Gelato.
