Royce Shook
As the President of the Wilson Advisory Board, Royce has worked hard to support seniors in Port Coquitlam by advocating and assisting with the development of seniors programs and services in partnership with the City. In 2020 alone, Royce was successful in numerous grant applications totaling close to $20,000 which were directed to support food security for seniors through the Farmers Market Coupon program. In spite of the challenges of the pandemic, Royce has also secured over $3000 for the 2021 coupon program and continues to write grants to support the seniors choir, the seniors Give a Try program, as well as attempting to obtain funding to support a seniors walking club.
Royce is tireless and has also been a leader with the Seniors Phone Buddies program, where he has been reaching out to seniors throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and helping to information on resources available to them, such as grocery and prescription delivery, library and fitness programs and public health updates.
