Recreation Program Support for children/youth supports the unique needs of participants and identifies strategies to support engagement. Recreation staff collaborate with families to build strategies, adaptations and the support role needed to create a positive experience for children/youth.
A Program Support Plan can support your child’s experience by:
- Providing information on how to best support your child’s specific needs
- Identifying strategies to help your child’s engagement
- Ensuring support needs are identified and communicated to program areas
- Determining the support role needed for your child: external support, support staff or strategies/adaptations Program staff can implement.
- Communicating your child’s strengths, interests and preferred activities
1-1 Support staff are available during seasonal camps only and is dependent on program capacity and staff availability. They are not trained Behavioural Interventionists or Community Support Workers.
Please note: Staff are unable to provide personal care such assistance with toileting, administering medication or changing.
