Facility Accessibility

We are committed to providing welcoming spaces for everyone. Our recreation facilities offer many accessibility features.

Port Coquitlam Community Centre

Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) is a vibrant community hub that brings a variety of amenities to the community, including three arenas with a concession, a gymnasium, leisure pool, fitness centre, multi-purpose rooms, a youth center, senior’s center and kitchen and the Terry Fox Library. The PCCC is Certified Gold by the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification Program (RHFAC). The RHFAC is a national rating system that measures and certifies the level of meaningful access of buildings and sites.

Hyde Creek Recreation Centre

Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, located on the North Side of Port Coquitlam, features a full aquatics complex, racquetball and squash courts, a gymnasium, weight and fitness room, aerobics/dance and martial arts studios, plus dedicated spaces for children’s programs and a youth centre with games and a kitchen.

Event Accessibility

The City of Port Coquitlam is committed to providing accessible and inclusive events for all members of our community to take part in. Features such as sensory friendly spaces, quiet sections of parade routes, and American Sign Language for key speeches build inclusion for our Port Coquitlam community. Participants can expect to find information on washrooms, parking, transportation options and mobility navigation at the site. We are proud to partner with Kinsight for our May Days celebrations and Canucks Autism Network for our Canada Day celebrations.
