Develop your skating and hockey skills with us. Learn to Skate, Learn to Play Hockey and private lessons are offered at Port Coquitlam Community Centre in the spring, summer, fall and winter.
Learn, strengthen and improve basic skating and hockey skills; our qualified and experienced instructors will provide technical and progressive instruction. We have classes for all ages.
Registration
Review important information to successfully register for lessons and programs.
All participants require an account for program registration. Register online through our Recreation Registration System.
Participants may only register for one of the same lesson set: 1 group, 1 private and 1 hockey.
Participants currently enrolled in skate lesson set, may not be on a waitlist.
Participants not currently enrolled in a lesson set can be added to multiple waitlists.
Participants must successfully complete a skate level prior to registering in the next level.
Additional skate lesson registrations will result in participant being withdrawn from additional registrations (refund policy in effect).
Drop-in during a public skate for an evaluation if you are unsure of your child’s level, rentals free.

Learn with us! Qualified and experienced staff provide technical and fun instruction following the Long–Term Development Framework with program focusing on Awareness, First Involvement, Active Start and FUNdamentals. Low student-to-staff ratios support skaters as they learn, strengthen and improve skating skills.
Learn to Skate programs are available for toddlers, children, youth and adults!
We offer a variety of options for customers of all ages and abilities who want lessons suited to meet individual learning styles or busy family schedules. To support, instructors create individualized lesson plans to develop or strengthen specific skills to help new skaters and those looking to strengthen existing skating skills.
Families with young children attend together to play and skate. Children must be accompanied by family members. Enjoy play based zones: hockey, skating and toys.
