Port Coquitlam Community Centre

Phase 1 of the 205,000-square-foot Port Coquitlam Community Centre opened in August 2019. We’re excited to announce the opening of the Fitness Centre with a celebration on December 12, from 5-8pm.

The new fitness centre offers state-of-the-art equipment, cardio and functional training zones, personal and group training, and two studios with fitness, yoga, dance and spinning classes. Spanning two floors, it is a bright, modern space with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the city, mountains and the pool zone below.

The Opening Celebration will have fun, fitness-inspired activities for the whole family! Be one of the first to see the new facilities and stay for free admission to the Weight Room (12+yrs, from 8–9pm).

Event Schedule

5 pm: Fun, family Zumba party in the lobby with Claudia followed by the Mayor’s Opening Remarks and Ribbon Cutting.

6–8 pm: Various fitness-related activities happening throughout the building!

Sign up outside the specified fitness studio 15 minutes prior to class start times:

  • 1st Floor Fitness Studio: Spinning
  • 2nd Floor Fitness Studio: Zumba, HIIT Interval, Body Sculpt & Yoga

8–9pm: Free Weight Room Admission (12+yrs)

This is a major milestone in the project, which will continue until 2021.

Temporary Entrances

Pedestrians can enter on Wilson Avenue on the north side of the building, and on Mary Hill Road on the west side of the building. There is no access from Kingsway Avenue.

Fitness Centre

2-level, 8500 square foot space offering cardio and functional training zones, personal and group training, two fitness studios and a weight room with state-of-the-art equipment.

Promotional schedule in effect from Dec. 13–31, 2019, which includes free trial classes, use of equipment and orientations. Regular operations will begin in January 2020.

Phase 2 Amenities Coming in 2021

Jon Baillie Arena (spectator arena), gymnasium, children’s area, more multi-purpose space, underground parking, outdoor plazas and sport courts.
