Development Cost Charges

The City of Port Coquitlam updated its development cost charges (DCC) bylaws in December 2023. DCCs are fees collected from developers to help fund the cost of growth-related infrastructure and parks.

Under Section 559 of the Local Government Act, a municipality can establish development cost charges (DCCs), which are charges levied on new development to help pay for transportation, drainage, water and sanitary infrastructure, as well as parkland acquisition and development.

DCCs are collected at the subdivision or building permit stage.
