Recycling (Blue Cart)

We provide curbside collection of recyclables to more than 18,000 single-family homes, multi-family units and business properties. Services are provided in conjunction with Recycle BC.

Curbside Glass Collection: Starts January 2025

Great news! We’re rolling out a curbside glass recycling pick-up program in January 2025. Grey recycling bins will be distributed to all residents who receive City waste services beginning the week of November 12 and wrapping up by the end of December. For more information, visit Glass Recycling.

Please ensure all recyclables are clean and dry. Do not bundle, bag or otherwise contain your recyclables (aside from shredded paper, which should be placed inside a paper box or bag).

Recycling Depots

Recyclables that are not accepted in your blue cart can be returned to a nearby Recycle BC depot. PoCo Return-It is an option in Port Coquitlam. Depots operated by Recycle BC accept a wide variety of recyclables.

Glass Depots

Glass is NOT accepted in your blue cart. We’re rolling out a curbside glass recycling pick-up program in January 2025, but until then, glass must be returned to a depot.
