The City of Port Coquitlam is pleased to announce a call to artists for its new Public Art Roster, spanning 2025 to 2027. This initiative seeks to enrich Port Coquitlam’s public spaces through the integration of creative and engaging artworks.
Recognizing the vital role art plays in shaping the character and vibrancy of community spaces, the City invites artists and designers to submit their portfolios for consideration at portcoquitlam.ca/artists. The Public Art Roster offers an opportunity for artists to collaborate on small-scale projects that are seamlessly integrated into the City’s civic infrastructure and public sphere.
By joining the roster, artists express their interest in working alongside the City’s Arts and Culture team, as well as other departments and divisions. Selected artists may have the chance to contribute to a variety of projects, such as:
- Murals or surface treatments on community buildings and play areas.
- Street installations, including decorated planter boxes, traffic barriers, or crosswalk designs.
- Functional design elements like shade canopies, seating, or artistic treatments for civic utilities.
This call is open to both established and emerging artists and designers, including those who are new to public art. The application process requires a statement of interest, resume, and portfolio, which will be carefully reviewed by City staff.
Artists selected for the roster will be listed for a two-year period and may be contacted for specific project opportunities. It is important to note that placement on the Roster does not guarantee a project offer.
The City of Port Coquitlam encourages all interested artists to apply online today and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of Port Coqutilam's public spaces.
