We're expecting a prolonged atmospheric river event from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday morning. The following have been issued:

  • Special Weather Statement
  • High Streamflow Advisory

Heavy rainfall is expected, and the rain could be mixed with snow on Sunday as freezing levels lower. Prolonged heavy rain on snow, combined with mountain snowmelt, will lead to very enhanced responses in river systems, with potential for localized flooding and water pooling on roads.

We're prepared:

  • Public access sandbag stations are ready at Cedar Park and the Public Works Yard
  • Pump stations are being cleared of debris
  • Backup generators and equipment have been checked and are ready to go

Stay safe:

  • Drive with care, as water may pool on roads during heavy rainfall. Allow extra travel time
  • Check for and clear leaves and debris covering drains and catch basins
  • Avoid rivers, creeks, and potentially unstable banks. Keep pets and children well back
