The City offers a range of full and half day camps for children and youth during spring break, summer holidays, winter break and Pro-D days. We strive to provide camps that service the north and south side of Port Coquitlam. Depending on the season and age of participants, camps may focus on sports, biking, skating, arts, musical theatre, outdoor adventures, and more. All camps inspire participants to move, create and connect!
Welcome letters for each camp are emailed to registered families the week before camp starts. Make sure your email address is up to date in ActiveNet to ensure you receive all the important information!

- A full or pro-rated refund will be granted, less the $5 admin fee, when a customer provides a medical note from a doctor prohibiting them from participating in their registered activity
The Recreation Program Expectation Form is an agreement and reminder of what is expected of each participant in our programs and camps. Camp leaders help participants follow the Caring Code:
- Take Care of Yourself
- Take Care of Others
- Take Care of This Place
Please review the Camp Expectation Form with your child prior to the start of camp.
The City offers a variety of supports and resources to ensure all residents have the opportunity to get involved in recreation and arts programs. Through the Financial Assistance Program, eligible families can receive a 75 percent discount on activities, including camps.
Families can also apply for an Individual Child Grant through Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Program. Learn more at: portcoquitlam.ca/financialassistance
Recreation Program Support recognizes the unique needs of participants and identifies strategies to support engagement. Recreation staff collaborate with families to build strategies, identify adaptations and determine the resources or support role needed to create a positive experience for children/youth.

If you would like your child or youth (age 10+) to leave camp on their own and walk home alone or with a sibling, please check the appropriate box in the camp registration form. Fill out the Permission to Walk Home form and bring to camp check in.
If your child or youth has severe allergies that require an epi-pen, please complete the Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan Form.
Download Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan Form [PDF/749KB]
- Note: You do not need to include a photo or obtain a physician’s signature.
- Please ensure the child’s name is clearly labelled on their EpiPen and matches the name on the submitted form.
Bring the completed form to camp check in on the first day of camp and let the camp leaders know where the epi pen is located in your child’s backpack or bag. The camp leader will tie coloured flagging tape to the bag so the epi pen can be easily located.
Many of our camps go swimming at our local pools. Please indicate on the registration form whether your child needs to wear a life jacket.
Families are encouraged to review and update their ActiveNet accounts prior to the start of each camp season to ensure the life jacket and other information is up to date.
All camps include time outdoors and being physically active. Camps often walk to local parks, playgrounds, spray parks or pools.
In addition, some camps— Junior Explorers, Explorers, Youth Adventure Camps and 1 Day Adventures Camps—take trips to off-site destinations by bus. All out trip locations are chosen specifically for the group(s) attending and feature age appropriate activities. Past camps have gone to Science World, waterslide parks, Grouse Mountain, and Wild Play. Staff to camper ratios are adjusted for out trips to ensure adequate supervision.
All out trip admission fees and bus costs are covered by the camp registration fee. Some destinations require waivers to be signed by parents. These waivers are normally emailed to parents with the Camp Welcome Letter and need to be signed and returned to Camp staff in advance of the out trip.
In general, City-run camps are device-free zones. Please leave cell phones and electronic devices at home. If a camper requires a cell phone to communicate with family after camp, the phone must stay out of sight in their backpack for the duration of the program.
Thank you to all of our summer camp volunteers, who help children have fun, make friends, and build lifelong memories! For more information about volunteering, please visit portcoquitlam.ca/volunteer.
