Port Coquitlam Community Centre

Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) is a vibrant community hub that brings a variety of amenities to the community, including three arenas with a concession, a gymnasium, leisure pool, fitness centre, multi-purpose rooms, a youth center, senior’s center and kitchen and the Terry Fox Library. The PCCC is Certified Gold by the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification Program (RHFAC). The RHFAC is a national rating system that measures and certifies the level of meaningful access of buildings and sites.

Accessibility features include:

Accessible entrances, paths, rooms and drop off/pick up areas at entrances, including handy dart access.
Customer service desks have a lowered desk area to assist patrons using a wheelchair.
Elevator access to main and second floors
Accessible underground parking. Entrances are located on Mary Hill Rd and Kelly Ave.
Automatic push button entries throughout facility.
Raised lettering and braille signage for program rooms and washroom facilities

Two “Everyone Welcome” accessible shower and change rooms, as well as an additional shower and change room with an electronic adult change table, a lift for assistance and a two-way radio for emergencies.

Benches situated in the center island of the Lazy River on both the north and south sides.
Bench seating located on the east side wall of the pool includes jets for the back and feet for therapeutic purposes.

1st Floor
- Chest Press seat swings out so that a wheelchair can pull up and use the equipment without having to transfer
- Row/Rear Delt machine seat swings out so that a wheelchair can pull up and use the equipment without having to transfer
- Therapy treadmill has handrails all the way to the end of the machine and starts at a slower pace than other treadmills
- Raised stretching mat to make standing back up or transferring easier
- Seats on bikes are at a height that makes it easy to transfer from a chair/walker
- Ski Machine adjustable to any height
- Adjustable height on most equipment that will allow for someone in a wheelchair to use with ease
- Straps allow for someone to use with limited grip strength. Users can put hand in the loop and not close or use forearm/elbow
2nd Floor
- Rowing machines upstairs with an adapted seat (with a back) option
- Dual Cable Cross machine with adjustable heights for the arms

Hyde Creek Recreation Centre

Hyde Creek Recreation Centre features a full aquatics complex, racquetball and squash courts, a gymnasium, weight and fitness room, aerobics/dance and martial arts studios, plus dedicated spaces for children’s programs and a youth centre with games and a kitchen.

The Outlet

The Outlet, located in Leigh Square, houses visual and performing arts facilities as well as features the PoCo Heritage Museum and Archives and art exhibitions by regional artists. Two multi-purpose rooms are regularly used for art classes for all ages including clay classes, woodcarving, painting, printmaking, and children’s art camps.

The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place, located in Leigh Square, is known for the Michael Wright Art Gallery—a circular room with excellent acoustics and a projection system for live music, receptions and events. When not booked for programs, the public is welcome to enjoy the art in the gallery and play the piano. There is also a Community Room is available for community meetings. Administrative offices are located on the 2^nd floor.
