Annual watermain flushing started Tuesday, February 17. This program ensures the continued delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to our community.
Flushing will run for approximately 12 weeks, and will generally take place between the hours of 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Some exceptions may apply. You may notice some discolouration of water and intermittent drops in water pressure — it is a temporary condition and is not a health concern. You can clear the water by running an indoor cold water tap for 20-30 minutes after the flushing period.
Weekly updates on the areas being flushed within the overall watermain flushing zone will be posted on Fridays at portcoquitlam.ca/watermain. More information and FAQs are available at portcoquitlam.ca/watermain.
All residents and businesses in the following areas are part of this year's overall watermain flushing zone:
- The area north of Lincoln Avenue, east of Oxford Street and west of Cedar Drive and Hyde Creek.
- The area west of Oxford Street, north of Lougheed Highway and Davies Avenue, east of Westwood Street and south of Lincoln Avenue.
- The area south of Lougheed Highway, east of Broadway Street and east of the Coast Meridian Overpass, and south to the Pitt River.
