Port Coquitlam, BC, July 2, 2026. . .The City of Port Coquitlam's Canada Day festivities wrapped up with more than 20,000 residents and visitors gathering at Castle Park throughout the day.
The day began with a fishing derby at Lions Park along the Coquitlam River, followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by the Lions Club at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC). Free drop-in basketball and lacrosse were also available at the PCCC for those looking to get active before heading to the main event. “Thank you to our incredible City staff, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, performers and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make Canada Day such a success,” said Mayor Brad West. “Most of all, thank you to the thousands of residents and families who came out to celebrate. You filled Castle Park with Canadian pride, community spirit, and everything that makes Port Coquitlam such a special place to call home. We have so much to be proud of in our community, and a lot more to come.”
The entertainment lineup ran from early afternoon through the evening, with performances from Cookin' With Brass, Carmelina Cupo, Whiskey Blind and Daniel Wesley, before headliners April Wine and Owen Riegling took the stage. The evening wrapped up with a fireworks display at 10:30 p.m.
