Participants can register at the registration tent beginning at 8:00 a.m. for the Terry Fox Hometown Run at the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre (1379 Laurier Avenue) in Port Coquitlam. The run begins at 10:00 a.m.
People are encouraged to run, walk, skateboard, ride a bike, rollerblade or just about anything they choose during the event on this wheelchair accessible route. Everyone is welcome to participate in this annual Canadian tradition to join and fundraise. Play a part and cheer on participants as they pass through the community. The idea is to have FUN while raising funds for cancer research.
Route and registration information is available at portcoquitlam.ca/terryfox. The routes will be marked and there will be traffic control at major intersections. Participants are asked to keep to the right at all times and to watch for oncoming traffic.
As parking will be limited in the area, the City is encouraging participants to plan ahead and allow for extra time for their journey by taking transit, walking or cycling to the run.
