The City is excited to welcome Canadian blues rock and reggae, multiple gold and platinum-selling records and nominated for several Juno awards over the years, Big Sugar.
Due to unforeseen circumstances one of the headliners, April Wine will not be performing for Port Coquitlam's Canada Day event on Sat. July 1, 2023. Unfortunately due to the size of the stage and the lack of rental inventory for a larger stage, April Wine was unable to perform at the 2023 Canada Day.. The event will still feature lead headliner Chad Brownlee and April Wine will be replaced by Big Sugar.
Big Sugar is an eclectic band whose expansive musical reach encompasses blues-rock, reggae, funk, and Latin sounds and has attracted a longstanding, loyal following on concert stages across North America and the globe, earning them a Road Gold Award. Catch them live on stage at Castle Park.
The free all-day event includes live music, family-friendly entertainment, beverage garden, mouth-watering eats from local food trucks, market vendors and more.
The day kicks off with a Lions Club pancake breakfast and fishing derby at Lions Park from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. The fishing derby is free for kids under 10 years of age. No registration is required.
Bring your family and friends, grab your beach chairs and blankets and enjoy all the festivities at Castle Park on Sat. July 1 from 12-10pm.
There will be a variety of marketplace and food truck vendors on-site, and of course a spectacular fireworks display closing out the evening at dusk.
