Join us for Port Coquitlam's annual BC Rivers Day Cleanup on Sunday Sept.24 at Lions Park from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Rivers Day Cleanup will be held at Lions Park (2300 Lions Way) in recognition of B.C. Rivers Day, which began in 1980 and is now internationally recognized as World Rivers Day, to celebrate the many values of rivers around the world.
Participants are encouraged to meet at the Lions Park picnic shelter from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and should come prepared with appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing. The City will provide snacks, garbage bags, gloves, and litter pickers. No registration is required.
The River's Day Cleanup is organized by City staff and will begin with an orientation of the areas that need cleanup as well as instruction. Staff will be on hand throughout the event to assist and guide participants. An information tent with an educational display will also be set up in the park.
Residents attending the River's Day Cleanup event are encouraged to go green and walk or cycle to the park.
