The leisure pool and aquatic area at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) will reopen on Saturday, March 16 after a two and half-month closure due to an unforeseen deficiency at the facility that required immediate attention.
The unforeseen deficiency was due to a broken pipe, within the tank of the pool. The repairs, which took longer than anticipated, are now complete. Refilling of the pool will begin this week.
The City recognizes the impact the closure of the PCCC leisure pool has had on the community and appreciate everyone's patience during this time.
The leisure pool and aquatic area will remain open for the rest of the year instead of closing for its annual scheduled maintenance usually held in April, as staff were able to include the regular maintenance work during the closure.
For a schedule of pool hours please visit portcoquitlam.ca/pccc. The City looks forward to welcoming the community back to the aquatics area.
Effective April 2, PCCC will extend its hours of operation until 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Please note: The extension of these hours do not include the Terry Fox Library.
