Celebrate Canada Day in Port Coquitlam with an afternoon filled with live music and performances, featuring Daniel Wesley and event headliner Tim Hicks.

The festivities at Castle Park will include a variety of activities and entertainment, including main stage performances, family-friendly fun, and a spectacular firework show at dusk.

This free, all-day event offers live music, family entertainment, a beverage garden, delicious offerings from local food trucks and market vendors, and much more. Bring your family and friends, grab your beach chairs and blankets, and join us at Castle Park for a day of celebration!

  • Free fishing derby with prizes for children age 10 and under (no registration required).

Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) 9:30 -11:00 a.m.

  • Canada Day Breakfast - Mabbett Hall - Two mini pancakes, two sausage and juice box or coffee $5.00. CASH ONLY
  • Free drop-in basketball - Gymnasium
  • Free drop-in lacrosse - Arena 1

Please note: All vehicles must vacate the PCCC underground parkade by 1:00 p.m. as the parkade will close promptly at that time.

Free Shuttle ServiceEvent-goers are encouraged to take transit, walk, cycle or enjoy free round-trip shuttle services to and from downtown Port Coquitlam. Shuttles will run every 30 minutes from 12:00 - 11:00 p.m. (times may be delayed due to traffic):

North

  • Minnekhada Middle School
  • James Park Elementary School

Downtown

  • The east parking area of the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (on Kingsway Avenue)

South

  • Kilmer Elementary School
  • Pitt River Middle School

Shuttle buses will drop off event-goers at Castle Park. Strollers are allowed on the shuttle buses and should be folded and placed in the luggage area of the bus.

Accessible Canada Day Event Port Coquitlam is dedicated to creating accessible experiences for people of all ages and abilities. On Canada Day this includes:

  • Accessible parking and shuttle options
  • American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter provided for speeches
  • A Sensory Friendly space hosted by the Canuck Autism Network (CAN)
  • Misting tent for cooling off
  • Accessible stage-viewing areas
  • An accessible viewing area for fireworks

Parking, Road Closures and Detours

The following traffic/safety control measures will be put into place Monday July 1:

  • Mary Hill pedestrian overpass & Castle Park trails: Closed at 8:00 p.m.
  • Citadel Drive from Confederation Drive to Castle Crescent: No parking 6:00 a.m. - midnight.
    • Vehicles must be moved from the above locations by 6:00 a.m. to avoid being towed.
  • Citadel Drive from Pitt River Road to Castle Crescent: Local traffic only after 6:00 p.m.

Street closures from 6:00 pm - midnight:

  • Colonial Drive at Citadel Drive
  • Nova Scotia Avenue (both entrances) at Citadel Drive (local access for residents only)
  • Castle Crescent (both entrances) at Citadel Drive (local access for residents only)

Parking is available at the schools in the area. A map is available online at portcoquitlam.ca/canadaday.

Local residents affected by these road closures to access their homes will have access and may be required to show their BC driver's license to officials at the checkpoints. Detours are in place and residents should watch for signage and traffic control personnel.
