The City of Port Coquitlam is excited to host once again, two Western Hockey League (WHL) pre-season games - Vancouver Giants vs. Victoria Royals on Sat. Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sun. Sept. 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) - Jon Baillie Arena. This event will coincide with Car Free Day on September 7.
Tickets will be available for $16 (plus tax) online or by phone beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Mon., Aug. 12 for Port Coquitlam residents, and 8:00 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 15 for the general public. Tickets will be available at portcoquitlam.ca/whl. To purchase tickets by phone contact Recreation at 604.927.PLAY (7529).
Tickets will be available for pick up between Wed. Sept. 4 to Fri. Sept. 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the arena reception desk at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. Tickets can also be picked up day of September 7 and 8, at the will-call station, located in the main corridor across from the gymnasium from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. for the Saturday game and from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. for the Sunday game.
Approximately 750 tickets will be available for each game and all seating will be general admission (first come, first serve). Any remaining tickets will also be available for sale at the door for each game. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. on Sat. September 7 and 1:00 p.m. Sun. September 8. The City encourages residents to arrive early to secure their seats.
Car Free Day
Exploring downtown Port Coquitlam has never been easier via transit, walking or cycling. Celebrate this free festival that will feature two stage areas, featuring food and beverages, free entertainment, displays, family activities and more ad part of the day's fun.
The second annual Car Free Day event presented by Translink will be held on McAllister Avenue in downtown Port Coquitlam on Saturday, Sept., 7 from noon to 8:00 p.m. Stay up to date at portcoquitlam.ca/carfreeday.
