Port Coquitlam Celebrates 10 Years Of Business Excellence At PoCo Best Biz Awards

Port Coquitlam, BC – February 27, 2025… Port Coquitlam's vibrant business community shone brightly at the 10th annual PoCo Best Biz Awards, held Thursday evening at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre – Mabbett Hall. Over 150 attendees gathered to network and celebrate the City's approximately 4,400 businesses.

“Celebrating a decade of the PoCo Best Biz Awards is a testament to the resilience, innovation, and community spirit that defines Port Coquitlam's business landscape.” said Mayor Brad West. “Congratulations to all the nominees and winners – you're what makes Port Coquitlam such a vibrant place to live and work.”

This year’s awards saw 233 nominations across five categories: Small Business, Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, BIA Downtown Business of the Year and Legacy Business of the Year. All nominees were also entered into the People’s Choice category, which garnered over 3500 public votes.

Winners were selected by a committee comprised of representatives from the City, the PoCo BIA and the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce.
 
Winners Are

  • Small Business of the Year: Reclaim Rehabilitation Consulting
    • 32 nominations were received in this category. Recognizing businesses with fewer than six employees that demonstrate exceptional customer service, positive contributions to Port Coquitlam, and leadership in social and cultural responsibility.
  • Business of the Year: Excel Martial Arts Port Coquitlam
    • 32 nominations were made in this category. Honouring businesses with more than six employees that exhibit outstanding customer service, leadership in social and cultural responsibility, and positive contributions to the community.
  • New Business of the Year: La Boulangerie
    • 15 nominations were received in this category. Celebrating innovative businesses with strong growth potential, creative problem-solving, and regional appeal.
  • PoCo Downtown BIA Business of the Year: In a Wink Beautique
    • 22 nominations were received in this category. Recognizing downtown businesses that demonstrating significant growth, sustainability, and excellent customer service
  • People’s Choice Award: Holistic Sleep Solutions
    • All nominees are entered into the People’s Choice category, which is voted on by the public. This year’s approximately 215 votes were cast.
    • Runner Up: Foxy Box Wax Bar

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the PoCo Best Biz Awards, the City presented a surprise Legacy Award. This award honours businesses with 25+ years of service in Port Coquitlam and that have demonstrated consistent community involvement, celebrating their lasting contribution.

Legacy Business of the Year: POCO Building Supplies

  • 10 businesses were shortlisted for the Legacy Business category. Honouring long-standing businesses that have operated in Port Coquitlam for 25+ years and demonstrated consistent community involvement.

"Poco Building Supplies exemplifies what it means to be a legacy business in Port Coquitlam,” says Mayor West. “Their decades of service, commitment to the community, and unwavering support for local initiatives have made them a cornerstone of our city. They're not just a business, they're an integral part of Port Coquitlam’s story."
