Hyde Creek Pool Closes For Annual Maintenance Aug. 25 – Sept. 13

The City of Port Coquitlam's Hyde Creek Recreation Centre will be temporarily closing its leisure and lap pools for annual maintenance from August 25 to September 13, inclusive. The squash/racquetball courts, weight room, and gymnasium will remain open during regular operating hours.

A customer service attendant will be available to answer questions and assist with registrations.

This essential maintenance work is performed annually to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The work includes:

  • Draining and repairing pool tanks
  • Tile repair
  • Preventative maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Miscellaneous repairs and painting

During this closure, the community is encouraged to use other City recreation facilities:

  • Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) Leisure Pool (2150 Wilson Street): Open during regular hours, with special statutory holiday hours on September 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Centennial Pool (3050 Chester Street): Open until September 14.
  • Robert Hope Pool & Wading Pool (2137 Lamprey Drive): Open until September 2.
  • Sun Valley Wading Pool (3700 Hamilton Street): Open until September 2.
  • Routley Wading Pool (1570 Western Drive): Open until September 2.
  • Spray Parks: All parks, including Castle and Sun Valley Parks, and the spray features at Lions Park and the PCCC, remain open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. until September 28.
