Remember and Honour Veterans on Remembrance Day

News

Port Coquitlam, BC – October 29, 2025… The City of Port Coquitlam invites residents, family, friends, and visitors to join in honouring veterans on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with a parade at 10:10 a.m and a Remembrance Day ceremony to follow at Veterans Park.

The Port Coquitlam Royal Canadian Legion Branch 133 will once again host the annual Remembrance Day service and parade in downtown Port Coquitlam. The parade will proceed along Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to McAllister Avenue, beginning at 10:10 a.m. and will conclude with a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph in Veterans Park.

“Remembrance Day is an opportunity for our community to come together in gratitude and reflection,” said Mayor Brad West. “We’re deeply moved each year by the respect and support shown by our residents as we honour those who have served and continue to serve, and the families who have given so much. It’s a day to remember their courage and to reflect on the peace we enjoy because of their sacrifice.”

Residents are encouraged to wear a poppy to show their respect. Poppies will be available at City facilities, with donations supporting the Legion Branch 133. Attendees may also place a poppy on the cenotaph at Veterans Park following the ceremony.
