Calling all Port Coquitlam writers! The City of Port Coquitlam and the Terry Fox Library invite residents to enter the Tiny Stories About Strange Worlds contest until June 8, 2026.
Step into a world of wonder and imagination and tell us a story about a strange or different reality. Who lives there? What challenges do they face? What do they dream about? Submissions must be 200–250 words and include your name, address, email, age, and phone number, using a legible font and size. You may submit up to three entries, but each must be submitted separately. Please submit using the online webform here: tinystoriesstrangeworlds.lndg.page/pw6VxH.
Contest is open to residents of Port Coquitlam of all ages. Please note that community members who have had their story featured on the Donald Storywalk within the past two years, are not eligible to enter the contest.
The project is a collaboration between the City of Port Coquitlam and the Terry Fox Library. Eight prize-winning stories will be professionally illustrated and featured on the Donald Storywalk in 2027. Each winner will also receive a gift certificate from Western Sky Books, sponsored by the Downtown Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association (PoCo BIA).
Residents of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to try their hand at writing a short story and entering the contest. Last year’s winning Tiny Stories about Big Adventures, all written by Port Coquitlam residents and illustrated by Madeline Berger, are currently on display along the Donald Pathway.
