NOTICE OF NOMINATION
Nominations for the offices of:
Mayor (1) and Councillor (6)
AND
Nominations for the offices of:
School Trustee (2) for Trustee Electoral Area 3
will be received by the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Chief Election Officer, as follows:

Interested persons can obtain information on the requirements and procedures for making nominations, including nomination forms at the Election Office, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam (City Hall) or online at: portcoquitlam.ca/election from August 12 at 9 am.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:
• Canadian citizen;
• 18 years of age or older on general voting day (October 17, 2026);
• resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed (March 10, 2026);
• not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SCHOOL TRUSTEE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a School Trustee if they meet the following criteria:
• Canadian citizen;
• 18 years of age or older on general voting day (October 17, 2026);
• resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed (March 10, 2026); and
• not disqualified under the School Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding office as a trustee, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
CAMPAIGN PERIOD EXPENSE LIMITS
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local election, the following expense limits for candidates during the campaign period apply:
Mayor $54,222.41
Councillor $27,436.09
School Trustee $27,984.05
THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING LIMITS
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local elections, the following third-party advertising limits apply:
Mayor and Councillors (Third Party) - $2,711.12
School Trustee (Third Party) - $1,724.35
