The 46th annual Terry Fox Hometown Run is happening on Sunday, September 20. This year's run is a great chance to either cheer on the participants or join in yourself. The run is open to everyone, with no registration fee or minimum donation required. Participants are welcome to walk, run, or ride. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre (1379 Laurier Avenue), with registration opening at 8 a.m.
The run is a fun way to honour Terry's Marathon of Hope and raise funds for cancer research. Everyone is welcome to join this accessible event, whether you run, walk, skateboard, ride a bike, or rollerblade. Cheer on participants as they make their way through the community, past the Gateway of Giants sculptures, and through the Marathon of Hope in Terry Fox Hometown Square at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC), before returning to Hyde Creek Recreation Centre.

Please be aware that the routes will be marked, and volunteers and RCMP will be directing traffic at major intersections to ensure everyone's safety. Participants are asked to stay to the right at all times and watch for oncoming traffic.
Road Closures
To ensure the safety of all participants, please note that Laurier Avenue and surrounding streets will be subject to full road closures. Residents are encouraged to avoid driving in the area during the event and to remove any parked vehicles from the affected streets by 8:00 a.m. to allow for volunteer setup.

Detours and Resident Access
Detours will be in place, and signage will guide drivers through alternate routes. Residents affected by these closures will have access to their homes but may need to show their B.C. driver's licence at checkpoints. For those in Manning Square, 3046 Coast Meridian Road, and Beaumaris Close, access will be allowed when it is safe to let traffic through.
Parking Information at Port Coquitlam Community Centre
Please note that the PCCC parkade's Kingsway entrance, along with the Wilson Avenue and Kingsway Avenue lots, will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday until roads reopen Sunday, approximately noon. The Mary Hill Road access will stay open all day for parkade traffic only, and the gravel lot across the street at Wilson and Kingsway will be available for overflow parking. A full parking advisory will be issued closer to the event date. Due to limited parking, participants are encouraged to use transit, walk, or cycle to the event.
