Environment Canada has issued a Yellow Warning for Rainfall Warning. Heavy rain is forecast to begin this evening, with rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm expected. Strong winds are also expected overnight and Tuesday morning. For the most up-to-date weather alerts, visit Environment Canada.
City crews have spent the day clearing trash racks and catch basins, and staff will be monitoring conditions to respond quickly if needed. Proactive efforts and the in-stream maintenance work completed this year at Hyde Creek and Cedar Creek puts Port Coquitlam in a stronger position heading into the wet season.
