Pavement Rehabilitation: Starts Monday, October 5 on Pitt River Road (from McLean Avenue to Cameron Avenue)

Notice

We're gearing up to complete pavement rehabilitation in neighbourhoods all around Port Coquitlam.

"Keeping our roads in good condition is one of the most important things we can do for the people who live, work and travel in Port Coquitlam," said Mayor Brad West. "This work will extend the life of our streets, improve safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, and protect the investment our community has made in its infrastructure."

This includes new pavement resurfacing, pavement structure rehabilitation where necessary, re-instating pavement markings, and concrete and drainage works where necessary. Locations that are included in the scope of this project include:

  • Pitt River Road from McLean Avenue to Cameron Avenue
  •  Oxford Connector from Esso station to Lougheed Highway
  • Glasgow Street from Salisbury Avenue to Dorset Avenue
  • Cambridge Street from Westminster Avenue to Lougheed Highway
  • Westminster Avenue from Cambridge Street up to approximately 40 metres to the east
  • Dominion Avenue from Nile Gate to the Traboulay Trail head

We will attempt to minimize inconveniences as much as possible, but typical construction
delays and disruptions may occur. Each area is expected to take approximately one week to complete, however, construction duration for each site may vary depending on the specific nature of work required at each particular site.

Schedule

Pavement rehabilitation work starts Monday, October 5 on Pitt River Road between McLean Avenue and Cameron Avenue. Work is scheduled Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm, with potential Saturday work from 9am to 7pm as needed. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but drivers can expect single-lane alternating traffic in some areas. Access from side streets to Pitt River Road will be detoured to other access points, and no parking signs will be in effect throughout the work zone. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Additional schedule updates will be provided as work continues.
