PORT COQUITLAM, BC – October 28, 2026… The City of Port Coquitlam invites residents, family, friends and visitors to join in honouring veterans on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, with a parade at 10:10 a.m. followed by a Remembrance Day ceremony at Veterans Park.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Port Coquitlam Branch #133, will once again host the annual Remembrance Day service and parade in downtown Port Coquitlam. The parade will begin at 10:10 a.m. and proceed along Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to McAllister Avenue, concluding with a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph in Veterans Park.
“Each November, Port Coquitlam pauses together to say thank you,” said Mayor Brad West. “The men and women who served, and those who serve today, gave us the freedoms and the peace that shape the community we enjoy. Gathering at Veterans Park is one of the most meaningful ways we can honour their courage and make sure the next generation understands why we remember. I encourage everyone to join us and stand alongside our veterans and their families.”
This year, the City is marking Remembrance Day with new commemorative street banners along Shaughnessy Street, honouring the service and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans. A Remembrance-themed sidewalk mural has also been installed on McAllister Avenue, offering residents a lasting place to pause and reflect throughout the season. The mural was inspired by an idea brought forward by a local cadet Joseph Domingo, in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Coquitlam Branch #133.
Residents are encouraged to wear a poppy as a sign of respect. Poppies will be available at City facilities, with donations supporting Legion Branch #133. Attendees may also place a poppy on the cenotaph at Veterans Park following the ceremony.
The full program will be available at portcoquitlam.ca/remember.
