The free community celebration will feature a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors, a beverage garden, market vendors and a grand finale fireworks display after dark.
April Wine is one of Canada’s most iconic rock bands, known for decades of memorable hits and high-energy live performances. With classic songs such as Just Between You and Me, Roller and You Could Have Been a Lady, April Wine continues to bring generations of fans together with a sound that has become part of Canada’s rock music history.
Owen Riegling has quickly become one of Canada’s standout country artists, earning national attention for his songwriting, engaging live performances and modern country sound. Known for songs including Old Dirt Roads and Moonshines, Riegling brings a fresh, energetic presence to the stage and will headline the evening performance at Castle Park.
“Port Coquitlam’s Canada Day celebration is one of the biggest community events of the summer, and this year’s lineup brings together two incredible Canadian acts for a night residents won’t want to miss,” said Mayor Brad West. “From April Wine’s classic rock anthems to Owen Riegling’s high-energy country sound, Castle Park will be the place to be on July 1. We invite everyone to join us for a full day of free entertainment, family fun and fireworks as we celebrate Canada Day together in Port Coquitlam.”

Lions Park 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Free fishing derby with prizes for children age 10 and under. No registration required.
Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Canada Day Breakfast hosted by the Lions Club in Mabbett Hall: two mini pancakes, two sausages and a juice box or coffee for $7. Cash, debit and credit accepted.
Free drop-in basketball in the gymnasium.
Free drop-in lacrosse in Arena 1. All participants must wear helmets.
Please note: all vehicles must vacate the PCCC underground parkade by 1:00 p.m. as the parkade will close promptly at that time due to statutory holiday hours.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, attendees can enjoy family-friendly activities, live music from local artists, food trucks, market vendors and a beverage garden.
The day will conclude with a fireworks display after dark. Everyone is encouraged to bring their families, friends, beach chairs and blankets for a full afternoon and evening of complimentary entertainment.

Free Shuttle Service
Attendees are encouraged to take transit, walk, cycle or use the free round-trip shuttle service.
Complimentary shuttles will run approximately every 30 minutes from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from designated stops on the north and south sides of Port Coquitlam. Following the event, return shuttle service from Castle Park will continue until attendees waiting for a ride have been transported. Shuttle times may vary due to traffic. Details of shuttle stops will be available on the City’s website closer to the event date.
Attendees planning to take transit can use TransLink’s Trip Planner at translink.ca/tripplanner to confirm routes and schedules.
Shuttle buses will drop off event-goers at Castle Park. Strollers are allowed on the shuttle buses and should be folded and placed in the luggage area.
