PORT COQUITLAM, B.C., October 22, 2026… For the sixth consecutive year, the City of Port Coquitlam is inviting children and youth to submit festive artwork for a chance to be featured on the cover of the City’s official Christmas card. Submissions are open until Sunday, November 15, 2026.
“Port Coquitlam is full of talented young artists, and this is a wonderful chance for them to share their creativity with the whole community,” said Mayor Brad West. “Council and I look forward to seeing this year’s submissions and sharing a little Christmas cheer from our kids with the people who help make PoCo such a great place to live.”
This annual initiative celebrates young artists and the creativity that defines Port Coquitlam’s vibrant community. Last year, more than 50 pieces of artwork were submitted and displayed throughout the City and on the official Christmas card cover, spreading joy and goodwill across the community.
Selected artwork will be featured on Christmas cards sent by Mayor and Council to community partners, volunteers and organizations in December 2026. Seniors living in Port Coquitlam long-term care homes will also receive personalized Christmas cards featuring the children’s artwork and a message from Mayor and Council.
Selected artwork will also appear on the City’s website, social media channels and outdoor digital signage, allowing the broader community to enjoy the creativity and festive spirit of local youth.
How to Participate
Children and youth are encouraged to submit drawings, paintings, crafts or handwritten notes that capture Christmas and winter themes. Artwork should be created on standard letter-size paper (8.5 x 11 inches) in landscape (horizontal) orientation, with important details kept away from the edges. To ensure print quality, please submit a clear scan or well-lit photo as a high-resolution JPEG, PNG or PDF file (300 dpi recommended). Entries can be uploaded at portcoquitlam.ca/artwork by Sunday, November 15, 2026.
This initiative reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to celebrating the creativity of its young residents and giving them meaningful ways to take part in community life. By involving children and youth in civic traditions like the Christmas card, the City continues to foster pride, connection and community spirit.
