City Of Port Coquitlam Annual Spring Cleanup Blitz

News

Port Coquitlam is gearing up for its annual spring City Cleanup Blitz, from May 12-14, 2025, to maintain the community's vibrancy and beauty.

In 2024, City crews collected 75 bags of litter. With spring's arrival and rising temperatures, the cleanup blitz will refresh streets, parks, trails, and public spaces, preparing the City for summer. City crews will cover downtown, the north side, and the south side, with each zone taking approximately five hours, followed by a sweeper to complete the day.

City crews will clean these three areas over three consecutive days:

  • downtown on Monday, May 12
  • the south side on Tuesday, May 13
  • the north side on Wednesday, May 14

Staff with litter pickers and buckets will be out, and residents may also notice street sweepers and additional City vehicles.

The litter blitz will include:

  • Roadside litter pickup, including major arterial roads
  • Cleanup around targeted catch basins in neighborhoods
  • Trail cleaning
  • Street sweeping
  • Litter and debris removal in City parks
  • Illegal dumping cleanup
  • Graffiti cleanup

The annual cleanup occurs during the spring, an ideal time to refresh public spaces after winter.

Residents driving or cycling should expect minor delays around work zones and are asked to respect the crews' space.

City crews work daily to keep public spaces clean and safe, picking up litter, emptying waste bins, and sweeping streets. The annual cleanup ensures parks, streets, trails, and other areas are clean and inviting for residents and visitors.

The City encourages residents to report concerns online at portcoquitlam.ca/report, via the PoCo Sort and Report app, or by calling 604.927.3111.
