The City is pulling out all the stops to recognize the hard work and dedication of its graduating students, with City Hall lighting up in school colours and special "Congrats Grad 2025" photo backdrops in City parks.
The City is celebrating its graduating students by:
- Sharing congratulatory messages on an underpass banner on Shaughnessy Street and on digital billboards, starting the week of June 9.
- Lighting up City Hall in the colours of each of its five secondary schools (Terry Fox Secondary, Riverside Secondary, Archbishop Carney, École des Pionniers, and BC Christian Academy) starting June 9. These displays will be shared on the City’s social media, so residents are encouraged to keep an eye out.
While all Port Coquitlam parks and trails offer beautiful backdrops for graduation photos, the City is making it even easier for graduates to capture this special milestone. Graduates can look for the "Congrats Grad 2025" photo backdrops, which will be in place by June 9 at these locations:
- Blakeburn Lagoons Park (2900-block Elbow Pl.)
- Lions Park (2300 Lions Way)
- Castle Park (2252 Castle Cres.)
The City encourages all local graduates to come out and celebrate their achievements amidst the natural beauty of the community. Congratulations, Class of 2025!
