Join Us For Car Free Day On McAllister Avenue On Sept. 6

Downtown Port Coquitlam will be alive with entertainment, culture, food and beverages, fun activities, and more this Saturday, for the third annual Car-Free Day. The family-friendly street party, presented by TransLink and in partnership with the City, will take over McAllister Avenue from 1 to 8 p.m.
 
Celebrate this street festival with two stage areas, food trucks, a beverage garden, live music, family activities, and more. TransLink, a partner in the event, encourages sustainable transportation through its Ride & Shine Campaign, which will include a free bike valet service at the event.
 
Car Free Day on McAllister Avenue: Sept. 6, 1:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Getting to Car Free Day
 
Attendees are encouraged to take transit, walk, or cycle to the festival. A free bike valet service will be available by Bike Valet to safely store your bike.
 
Several bus routes, including the 159160170173174, and 188 are just a short walk from McAllister Avenue.
 
Parking, Road Closures and Detours
 
The following traffic/safety control measures will be put into place Saturday September 6.

Street closures from 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.:

  • McAllister Avenue from Shaughnessy Street to Mary Hill Road
  • Donald Street from McAllister Avenue to Wilson Avenue
  • Leigh Square Place from Shaughnessy Street to Leigh Square.
