Flood Watch & Rainfall Warning Issued

The BC River Forecast Centre has upgraded the High Streamflow Advisory to a Flood Watch for our region. Environment Canada has also issued a Yellow Warning for Rainfall.

The following areas have been closed due to high water levels:

  • PoCo Trail at the Kingsway underpass leading into Lions Park
  • Westside Trail at the Kingsway underpass
  • Gates Park main parking lot (off Reeve Street)
  • Foot bridge at Smiling Creek
  • Birchland Park

We are continuing to monitor conditions and inspecting, clearing, and preparing infrastructure including drainage systems, culverts, and pump stations. Sandbag stations at Cedar Park and the Public Works Yard are stocked.

Drive with care, help clear leaves and debris from drains and catch basins, and avoid rivers, creeks, and potentially unstable banks.
