We'll be continuing with treatment for Japanese beetle this fall. Japanese beetle is an invasive insect that can cause serious damage to gardens, lawns and plants. Here's what to know:
- The treatment (Acelepryn) specifically targets root-eating grubs. It's not harmful to people, pets, mammals, birds, bees, butterflies, or other animals.
- To give the treatment a chance to take effect, please avoid these areas on treatment days. There will be City staff and signage present at each site to advise people of program details and best practices.
- The City will be undertaking treatment of public lands only. If your property is located within this year’s treatment boundary zone, you will receive a mailout package soon with details to sign up for free treatments through the Province’s contractors (Bartlett Tree Experts and Para Space Landscaping).
