Overnight & Morning Road Conditions Update

Notice

As temperatures drop overnight, City staff continue to closely monitor road conditions to help keep streets and our community safe. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip to -4°C, which may lead to icy or slippery conditions, particularly on streets that did not fully dry today.

There is also a low chance of light snow early tomorrow morning, though no road snow accumulation is currently expected.

What residents may see on the roads:

  • A standby crew checking conditions late this evening
  • Pickup trucks with sanders performing spot salting
  • Larger trucks treating first-priority routes early in the morning
  • Crews addressing second-priority routes as needed City staff are scheduled to be out overnight and early morning to monitor conditions and apply salt where required.

What residents can do and we encourage you to do so: •

  • Allow extra travel time, especially during the morning commute
  • Drive slowly and leave extra space between vehicles
  • Use caution on bridges, hills and shaded areas, which may freeze first

City staff will continue to monitor weather and road conditions and will respond as needed. Updates will be shared if conditions change.
