Road Closures in Effect for May Days on Saturday, May 10

As we celebrate May Days, significant road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in downtown Port Coquitlam on Saturday, May 10, starting at 7am and lasting until 7:30pm. Please note: "CLOSED" indicates no vehicle access.

  • 7am to 7:30pm: Wilson Avenue CLOSED — Between Mary Hill Road and Kingsway Avenue (Medical building accessible)
  • 7am to 1pm: Leigh Square Place CLOSED — east of Shaughnessy Street
  • 7am to 1pm: McAllister Avenue CLOSED – Between Shaughnessy Street and Donald Street
  • 9:45am to 1pm: McAllister Avenue CLOSED – West of Shaughnessy Street to the laneway
  • 9am to 1pm: Shaughnessy Street (Pitt River Road to Atkins Avenue) - Closed for parade assembly and dispersal. No street parking from 7am to 2pm. Also: Rindall Avenue, Central Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue, Welcher Avenue, Tyner Avenue CLOSED for parade assembly and dispersal.
  • 9:45am to 1pm: Shaughnessy Street (Wilson Avenue to Underpass), Elgin Avenue, Mary Hill Road, Hawthorne Avenue to Tyner Avenue - CLOSED during the parade. Also: Wilson Avenue CLOSED – between Mary Hill Road and Shaughnessy Street.

Please use alternate routes such as the Coast Meridian Overpass, Lougheed Highway, Reeve Street, and Pitt River Road.

To ensure the safety of all participants and vendors during the May Days celebrations, the City has implemented comprehensive security measures, including truck blockades, an increased presence of security staff, dedicated security personnel, and strategically placed portable vehicle barriers to control access throughout the event area.

Joining us? FREE shuttles will be running approximately every 30 minutes from 10am-10pm from Minnekhada Middle School, James Park Elementary School, Mary Hill Elementary and Castle Park Elementary School. We'll also have a free bike valet at Rowland Park (2240 Wilson Avenue) from 8:30am-8:30pm.
