Here's your next update on these winter weather conditions. ❄️ Priority 1 routes are clear, Priority 2 routes are clear, and Priority 3 routes are 90% clear, with a small section currently being serviced on northside that have packed snow. We're aiming to be 100% complete by 3pm! βœ”

No further precipitation is expected at this time, but we are preparing for cold temperatures.

Snow Update #6 | February 4 at 6:30am 🌨️

Good morning, Port Coquitlam! We received an additional snowfall overnight, and our crews are diligently working to clear the roads and ensure safe travel. Please be patient and allow for extra time during your commute this morning. Remember to give our snow removal teams plenty of space as they work to improve conditions for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Please clear the area fronting your property by 10AM. Keeping sidewalks clear helps ensure the safety of everyone, especially seniors and those with mobility challenges.

Waste collection is going ahead as scheduled. Please place your carts out.

* 9 trucks focused on Priority 1’s  Plowing and applying salt/brine mix.
* 2 tandems, 5 mini’s, 1 light duty, 1 loader
* 7am we will add 1 tandem, 3 mini’s and 4 light duty

  • Waste collection is going ahead as scheduled.
  • Childminding at Hyde Creek is cancelled today. Registrants will be notified by phone.

Current Shift scheduled for 14 trucks will work Plowing and salt/brine mix where necessary ensuring all routes cleared for morning commute

Snow Update #4 - 6:15 PM 🌨️- February 2, 2025

As of now, a significant amount of snow has been cleared, and we are preparing for the next snow event expected shortly after midnight. Crews are working hard to ensure a safe commute for everyone on Monday morning. If you're heading out, please allow yourself plenty of time and stay safe out there!

❄️ Thank you to all the residents and businesses who have cleared the sidewalks adjacent to their properties. Please remember to clear the area by 10 AM the morning after a snowfall. Keeping sidewalks clear helps ensure the safety of everyone, especially seniors and those with mobility challenges.

❄️ Be a good neighbour by offering to help clear your neighbour’s sidewalk if they need assistance. Take a moment to check in on those in your community to see if they require help with snow removal or any other needs. Your kindness can make a significant difference! Here's what the City is doing in preparation for tomorrow's commute:

πŸš› Streets:

We currently have 8 trucks operating: 3 tandems and 5 mini trucks.

3 trucks are working the North, 4 are covering the South, and 1 is stationed Downtown and on the west side.

We will be adding a pickup from 6 AM to 10 PM to work on cul-de-sacs.

The current shift, scheduled for 8 trucks, will work until 3 AM, plowing and applying a salt/brine mix where necessary.  

1 truck will work from 6 PM to 10 PM on cul-de-sacs.

The next shift will include 8 trucks and 1 loader from 3 AM to 3 PM, with an additional 4 trucks scheduled from 3 AM to 7 AM to focus on cul-de-sacs.

Staff will monitor weather conditions and make adjustments as needed.

The next scheduled shift will have staff from 3 AM to 3 PM.

🌨️ Snow Update #3 - 8:15 AM 🌨️ February 2, 2025

All hands on deck for this snowfall with crews working around the clock to stay ahead of it all. Please ensure you give yourself plenty of time if you're heading out today and be safe out there!

2 trucks out overnight and currently have 6 trucks on the road clearing snow along with 2 tandems and 4 mini dumps applying pre-wet salt on all of our priority routes.

Pre-Snow Update #2 - 6:30 PM 🌨️ - February 1, 2025

We're on top of the incoming snow situation! Here's what the City is doing:

πŸš› Streets:

Two trucks are currently active and will continue working until 3 AM, applying a salt/brine mix where needed.

Our team is monitoring routes closely. As they finish brining, they'll conduct a streetlight outage audit to ensure safety on the roads.

From 3 AM to 3 PM, expect six trucks (2 Tandem and 4 Singles) equipped for plowing and applying salt/brine mix as the predicted first wave of snow hits.

🌳 Parks:

A dedicated crew of 6 staff members will be on duty at 3 AM Sunday to clear Priority 1 sidewalks and pathways.

Pre -snow update #1 - 11:00 am - February 1, 2025

2 trucks have been working since 3am applying salt brine mix. All Priority 1 routes and are currently working secondary routes.

2 more trucks will co it ie to work till 3am continuing application of salt/brine mix.

Based on projections will increase staffing to 6 trucks for 3am Sunday Parks

Pathways continue to be monitored and in good condition

Crew scheduled for 5am Sunday morning for Priority 1 clearing sidewalks and pathways
