Port Coquitlam has announced the list of candidates running in the City's 2026 General Local and School Board Election, to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The candidate nomination period closed on Friday, September 11 at 4:00 p.m.
Residents will elect one mayor, six councillors, and two school trustees.
The three candidates for Mayor are:

The list of candidates is subject to change until 4:00 p.m. on September 18, 2026, which is the deadline for candidate withdrawals.
Elected officials will serve a four-year term from November 2026 to October 2030. City Council and the school board make decisions that directly affect residents, including local services, infrastructure, parks and recreation, community planning, and education.
Ways to vote:
- Advance voting is available on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre - Mabbett Hall (2150 Wilson Avenue) and Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre (1379 Laurier Avenue).
- General voting day is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
- Mail ballot voting is also available. Residents can find information on eligibility and how to apply on the City's Mail Ballot Voting page.
Residents can check with Elections BC to confirm whether they're on the voters list. Note that any updates made through Elections BC now will not appear on the City's copy of the list for this election.
