Port Coquitlam’s 12 Days Of Christmas Campaign Returns To Light Up The City

News

Port Coquitlam's 12 Days of Christmas holiday campaign is back for its fifth year, encouraging residents to illuminate their homes, support local businesses, and give back to charities this festive season.

In 2023, more than 80 residents showcased their holiday spirit by submitting photos of their brightly-lit homes. This year, the City invites even more participants to join the celebration. Residents can submit their night-time photos of decorated homes by December 12 for a chance to win a $150 gift card to a Port Coquitlam business. One winner will be randomly selected each day of the campaign.

Adding to the holiday cheer, the City has light up key areas this weekend, including downtown Port Coquitlam’s Shaughnessy Street, City Hall, Donald Street Pathway, the northside commercial area at Prairie Avenue and Coast Meridian Road, and select trees.

The contest is open to Port Coquitlam residents, with a limit of one entry per address over the 12 days. Photos can be uploaded at portcoquitlam.ca/brightenpoco or shared on social media using the hashtags #WinterInPoCo and #WinterInTheCity, while tagging the City (@CityofPoCo on X or Instagram, or @portcoquitlam on Facebook).

In partnership with the Port Coquitlam Downtown Business Improvement Association (PoCo BIA), winners can choose a $75 gift card from any licensed business in Port Coquitlam. The PoCo BIA will also give away 12 additional $75 gift cards from local downtown businesses, doubling the excitement.
