Businesses, vendors, restaurants and organizations across Metro Vancouver and beyond are invited to take part in the 103rd May Day Parade on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following the parade, the celebration continues with Party in the Square, featuring family-friendly activities and entertainment.
As one of the longest-running community parades in the Lower Mainland, the May Day Parade is a cherished tradition in downtown Port Coquitlam. In 2025, the parade featured over 90 participants, lasted 1.5 hours, and attracted 22,000 spectators from across the region.
This annual event features a full day of entertainment and family-friendly activities, including vibrant floats, energetic dancers, fire trucks, and a variety of parade performances. The City welcomes marching bands and musical groups including pipe bands, brass ensembles, and drumlines to register and take part. Parade registration and coordination will be led by the City of Port Coquitlam.
Businesses, non-profits, and community groups are encouraged to register by April 14 to secure their spot in the parade. The following fees apply:
- Commercial float entry: $75
- Incorporated non-profit or municipal: $25
- Unincorporated non-profit: Free. No charge
