Port Coquitlam, BC, May 30, 2024. . . Country music star and Canadian singer-songwriter Tim Hicks is set to headline Canada Day in Port Coquitlam on Monday, July 1, 2024. The Canada Day event will feature a lineup of activities and entertainment at Castle Park, including performances on the main stage, family fun activities, and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
The free all-day event includes live music, family-friendly entertainment, beverage garden, mouth-watering eats from local food trucks, market vendors and more. Bring your family and friends, grab your beach chairs and blankets and enjoy all the festivities at Castle Park.
"I'm excited to share that Tim Hicks will have our community rocking as we celebrate our amazing country at our annual Canada Day event at Castle Park," Mayor Brad West said. "It's the perfect day for everyone to come together to celebrate Canada and everything that makes Port Coquitlam so special. From amazing entertainment to family fun and spectacular fireworks, there's something for everyone."
The day kicks off with Lions Club pancake breakfast and fishing derby at Lions Park from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. The fishing derby is free for kids under 10 years of age. No registration is required.
The fun continues from 12:00 to dusk at Castle Park with live entertainment, food, beverages and the Grand Finale Fireworks - a full afternoon and evening of free family fun.
Tim Hicks has released many highly praised albums throughout his career including Throw Down, 5:01, 5:01+, Shake These Walls, New Tattoo, Wreck This, Campfire Troubadour and Talk To Time. He has been nominated for five JUNO Awards, won a CCMA Award, has four-platinum selling singles and has garnered eighteen Top 10 radio hits. Hicks has over 100 million collective streams and has sold out back-to-back national tours. Some of his best-selling hits include 'Hell Raisin Good Time,' 'Stompin' Ground,' 'Stronger Beer' and 'Here Comes the Thunder.' Tim was nominated for Fans' Choice and Album of the Year, "Talk to Time" at the 2023 CCMA Awards and wrapped his Campfire Troubadour 2023 headline tour across Canada last fall.

Free Shuttle ServiceEvent-goers are encouraged to take transit, walk or cycle or enjoy free round-trip shuttle services to and from downtown Port Coquitlam. Shuttles will run every 30 minutes from 12:00 - 10:00 p.m. (times may be delayed due to traffic) from the north and south side of Port Coquitlam. Details of stops will be provided closer to the event day.
Shuttle busses will drop off event-goers at Castle Park. Strollers are allowed on the shuttle busses and should be folded and placed in the luggage area of the bus.
