Port Coquitlam, BC, May 21, 2025. . . The City of Port Coquitlam is thrilled to announce that iconic Canadian rock band Trooper, and celebrated country music star Aaron Pritchett, will headline the annual Canada Day celebration on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Castle Park. Get ready, Port Coquitlam, for a Canada Day filled with electrifying rock anthems and high-energy country hits from two of Canada's most beloved artists.
Trooper is a legendary Canadian rock band that has been entertaining audiences for decades with their signature blend of catchy melodies and hard-driving rock. Known for their string of hit songs that have become Canadian classics, such as "Raise a Little Hell," "The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car," and "We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)," Trooper delivers a high-energy live show that is sure to have the crowd singing along to every word.
Aaron Pritchett is a highly acclaimed Canadian country music star known for his dynamic stage presence and authentic country sound. With a career spanning numerous successful albums and chart-topping singles, Pritchett has garnered a dedicated fanbase with his engaging lyrics and energetic performances. Hits like "Dirt Road in 'Em," "Let's Get At 'Er," and "Hold My Beer" showcase his ability to blend traditional country themes with a contemporary edge, creating a vibrant and entertaining live experience.

Schedule of Events
Lions Park 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.
- Free fishing derby with prizes for children age 10 and under (no registration required).
Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) 9:30 a.m. - 11:30am
- Canada Day Breakfast – Mabbett Hall - Two mini pancakes, two sausage and juice box or coffee $7.00. Cash, debit and credit.
- Free drop-in basketball – Gymnasium
- Free drop-in lacrosse – Arena 1 – all participants must wear helmets.
Please note: All vehicles must vacate the PCCC underground parkade by 1:00 p.m. as the parkade will close promptly at that time due to statutory holiday hours.
Castle Park - 1:00 p.m. to dusk
- Food vendors and beverage garden
- Live entertainment throughout the day
- Main stage performances by Aaron Pritchett and Trooper
- Grand finale fireworks display after dark
Throughout the afternoon and evening, all attendees can enjoy engaging family fun activities, live music from other talented local artists, a diverse selection of food from local food trucks, unique offerings from market vendors, and a refreshing beverage garden.
The day will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display after dark. Everyone is encouraged to bring their families, friends, beach chairs, and blankets for a full afternoon and evening of complimentary entertainment.

Volunteer Callout
Canada Day is a community celebration made possible by the dedication of volunteers. The City is seeking enthusiastic individuals to assist with various roles, including:
- Providing information and directions to attendees
- Assisting with event setup and takedown
- Serving as parking attendants
- Supporting road closures
- Supervising the bike valet

Free Shuttle Service
Attendees are encouraged to take transit, walk or cycle or enjoy free round-trip shuttle services to and from downtown Port Coquitlam. Complimentary round-trip shuttle services will run every 30 minutes from 1:00 - 10:00 p.m. (times may be delayed due to traffic) from the north and south side of Port Coquitlam. Details of shuttle stops will be available on the City’s website closer to the event day.
Shuttle busses will drop off event-goers at Castle Park. Strollers are allowed on the shuttle busses and should be folded and placed in the luggage area of the bus.
