Hanan has been a volunteer with the City of Port Coquitlam since March 2023. In the six months she has been volunteering with Children Services programs, she has already been skyrocketing to success with her positive and compassionate attitude. She showed incredible support and leadership during both After School Programs and Summer Camps, where she has engaged with children in a variety of activities. In being a part of these programs, Hanan has felt very connected with children and always has stories to tell after camps about her daily experience.

A Grade 11 student at Riverside Secondary, Hanan’s passion for volunteering doesn’t just stop with children’s programs and camps. She also volunteers at a local animal clinic, where she helps with administrative tasks and general assistance.  Hanan previously volunteered  at a local martial arts school where she is currently working as an instructor.

Children Services Team Recreation Leader Taylor Fridge writes that Hanan has an incredible ability to connect with the kids, making them feel comfortable and valued. Her dedication, interpersonal skills, flexibility, and commitment to excellence makes her a stand out volunteer.

The City of Port Coquitlam’s Recreation Department would like to thank Hanan for making a positive impact in the community!
