Winter Festivities Continue In Port Coquitlam With Holiday Train and More

The holiday fun continues this month in Port Coquitlam with a line-up of family friendly festivities for all ages.

Dec. 20, 7:05 p.m. - The 26th annual Canadian Pacific Kansas City Holiday Train is rolling into Port Coquitlam on Mon. Dec. 20 (7:05 p.m. arrival, 7:15 - 7:45 p.m. show)
 
In addition to the arrival of the train, the City, will be offering free holiday art activities, hot chocolate, popcorn, and a screening of the Grinch movie from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the concession landing, followed by the arrival of the CPKC Holiday Train on Kingsway Avenue between Mary Hill Road and Wilson Avenue at 7:05 p.m.
 
The three-week, 10,000-kilometre journey began Nov. 21 in New Brunswick and will visit more than 150 communities before its final performance in Port Coquitlam featuring Magic! and Sofia Camara from 7:15 to 7:45 p.m.

Public Skating

Pre-registration opens two days in advance for Port Coquitlam residents (8:00 a.m.) and for non-residents (10:00 a.m.). Register at portcoquitlam.ca/register or call 604-927-7529. Day-of registration available if space permits.

  • Public Skate – Everyone welcome lap skating wheelchairs and strollers permitted. Max. 175 participants.
    • Holiday Train Skate: Dec. 20, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
    • Skate with Santa: Dec. 21, 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.
    • Regular Skates: Dec. 21 to 24, 27 to 31; Jan. 2 to 5 (various times)
  • Family Play and Skate – Fun for families with young children play zones for hockey, skating, and toys. Max 60 participants.
    • Times: Dec. 21 to 24, 27 to 31; Jan. 2 to 5
  • Ring, Stick, and Puck ($4) – Experienced skates practice sitck and puck skills (ages 4+). Bring your own sticks and hockey gloves, helmet and skate rentals available. Max. 24 participants.
