Terry Fox Hometown Run

Join us for the 45th annual Terry Fox Hometown Run on Sunday, September 14. The run kicks off at 10am from Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, with registration opening at 8am.

This year's theme, "Finish It," honours Terry's unwavering commitment to his Marathon of Hope. Whether you run, walk, cycle, or use any other form of movement, everyone is welcome to participate in this fully accessible event. It's a day to have fun, come together as a community, and help raise vital funds for cancer research.

Route Information, Road Closures & Parking Impacts

This year, the route has been extended, leading participants past the new inspirational sculptures at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC), which honour local champions and Terry's enduring spirit. Along the path, participants will find water stations and inspiring messages to keep them motivated. The route is wheelchair-accessible, welcoming everyone to walk, run, cycle, or use any form of movement to contribute to cancer research.

Participants will travel from the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, running past the new sculptures and through the Marathon of Hope in Terry Fox Hometown Square at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre before returning to Hyde Creek Recreation Centre.

To ensure the safety of all participants, multiple roads and intersections, including Laurier Avenue, Coast Meridian Road, and Kingsway Avenue, will be subject to closures between 6:30am and 2:30pm. Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to avoid driving during the event and to remove any parked vehicles from the street by 8am to allow for volunteer setup.

Detours will be in place, and affected residents will have access to their homes by showing their BC driver’s licence at checkpoints. Review detour options in the map below.
