May Days

Thank you for joining us for the 103rd May Days celebration in Port Coquitlam! An estimated 20,000 people attended or participated throughout the day, including the Kids’ Bike Race, May Day parade, Leigh Square activities, May Day Market and Party in the Square at Terry Fox Hometown Square.

For more than a century, May Days has brought our community together to celebrate local pride, tradition and connection. I am pleased to welcome residents and visitors back for another exciting May Days in Port Coquitlam. From our Opening Ceremonies on May 3 to a full day of family fun on May 9, May Days is a chance to come together and celebrate everything that makes our community so special. We look forward to seeing you in downtown Port Coquitlam for this treasured community tradition.

We invite you to join us for the Opening Ceremonies at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 3 at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. This long-standing tradition, which dates back to 1923, includes Maypole dancing by local children and the presentation of the 2026 May Day Royal Party.

The celebration continues on Saturday, May 9 with a full day of events in downtown Port Coquitlam. The morning begins with the PoCo Kids Bike Race at 10:00 am, a free, fun and non-competitive event for children, followed by the May Day Parade at 11:00 am. As one of the Lower Mainland’s longest-running parades, it brings together floats, performers and community groups for a lively celebration along our downtown streets.

Throughout the day, residents and visitors can also enjoy performances on the Kids’ Stage in Leigh Square, browse market vendors on Wilson Avenue, and take part in Party in the Square at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. With live entertainment, food trucks, a beverage garden, activities and more, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

May Days would not be possible without the support and dedication of our volunteers, sponsors and community partners. Thank you to everyone who helps make this festival such a meaningful part of our community.
