May Day Parade Application

Businesses and organizations are invited to apply below to join our 2026 May Day Parade! As one of the longest-running community parades in the Lower Mainland, the May Day Parade is a cherished tradition in downtown Port Coquitlam. In 2025, the parade featured over 90 participants, lasted 1.5 hours, and attracted 22,000 spectators from across the region.

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
Parade Time: 11am to 1pm
Assembly Time: 9am for floats and vehicles, 9:30am for all other entries

I understand that the City reserves the right to cause removal of any person or entry from the parade route that is, in its opinion, offensive or a hindrance to the progress of the parade, or places other participants or spectators in physical danger, or violates any of the regulations set forth in this application. These rights are non-negotiable and will be strictly enforced. Any violation of the above listed regulations will be considered grounds for immediate removal from the parade.

Liability Statement: Participants must recognize that all programs of a physical nature involve some risks, and that by registering for a program of this nature there is an assumption of risk by the participant or the participant's parent or guardian. Furthermore, the participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Port Coquitlam, its employees and volunteers, from any loss or liability which may result from such participation. All pictures & video taken by staff at special events and programs are subject to publication.

Indemnity Agreement: I agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend any action against the City of Port Coquitlam from and against all liabilities unless such actions arise out of the negligence of the Released Party’s participation in the Parade of Lights.

I have carefully reviewed the Parade Entrant Information's rules, regulations, and liability and fully understand its content. I understand that it is the responsibility of each organization’s representative to have all of his/her participants read and adhere to the above information. This signed waiver will cover all members of the organization, group, or participant for this event.
