Featured Opportunity: May Days
What: Port Coquitlam’s signature spring celebration featuring a family-friendly kids’ race, a vibrant parade, Party in the Square, live entertainment on two stages (kids’ stage in Leigh Square and main stage in Terry Fox Hometown Square), kids’ carnival rides along Kelly Avenue, and a beverage garden.
Who: More than 20,000 attendees annually, primarily families and residents from Port Coquitlam and the Tri-Cities, with visitors from across the region.
Our Volunteer Recognition Awards celebrate the invaluable contributions of volunteers in making a positive difference in the community. Their efforts inspire others to get involved and encourage ongoing volunteerism. Established in 1997, the program acknowledges and honours Port Coquitlam’s outstanding volunteers. Since the program’s inception, more than 145 individuals have been recognized, with hundreds of nominees acknowledged for their contributions.
What: Annual multi-day spring festival including a May Day Royal Party and children’s Maypole dancing, and capped off by a full-day event including a kids’ bike race, the Rotary May Day Parade, and Party in the Square with entertainment, family fun, beer garden, market and more.

What: A new full-day festival promoting climate-friendly transportation and community spirit featuring live performances, family-friendly entertainment and games, informational and community displays, food, beverages and more.

What: The annual Christmas in the Square and Winter Market is the official kick-off to the holiday season, with family-friendly activities, food and beverages, photos with Santa, holiday craft-making, live music and the official lighting ceremony.

What: Our Parade of Lights brings vibrant holiday spirit to downtown Port Coquitlam! As the first event of its kind in the Tri-Cities, the Parade of Lights showcases a procession of City vehicles, community organizations, local businesses, and walking groups — all decorated in festive lights.
